Career at the Space Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory SRC PAS

Are you interested in space mechatronics and robotics?

Do you find space fascinating and want to learn much more about space technologies?

Do you want to pursue ambitious projects full of challenges?

Are you dreaming of becoming part of a team of professionals building the future of space science?

If so – join our Lab!

Laboratory of Space Mechatronics and Robotics (LMRS) is a part of the Space Research Centre (SRC), an interdisciplinary institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS), which for over 30 years has combined a great knowledge of the European space industry with the scientific work and space creativity, thanks to which SRC PAS took part in the most prestigious international projects (such as MARS EXPRESS - Martian probe, Cassini / Huygens – study of Saturn and Titan, INTEGRAL - high energy space laboratory, ROSETTA - mission to the comet).

From the first day of work at our laboratory you will be given satisfactory and responsible tasks and challenges, and you will be working on a variety of projects.

Our team took, and takes part in many international projects, including mission Bepi-Colombo, Cherenkov Tellescope Array (CTA), Rosetta mission, mission Chandrayaan-1, Lunar Geophysical Package (L-GIP), Phobos Sample Return mission, or mission Obstanovka.

Engineers account for a large number of professionals working in the space sector. It is also a key profession of each astronautic team. Engineers, using the fundamental principles of science, design and build various devices for the space industry including computers, satellites, lasers, airplanes, landers, capsules and space stations, and new materials.

Here are some of the engineering disciplines that underpin the activities of our Laboratory:

  •     Aeronautical engineering
  •     Robotics
  •     Materials engineering
  •     Computer engineering
  •     Technology development
  •     Mechanical engineering

Scientists investigate that which already is;
