Visit of the Space Research Centre delegates at the "14th Heat and Mass Transfer Forum" in Minsk

Representatives of our laboratory, Tomasz Kucinski and Karol Seweryn, participated in a conference on Belarus. Its subject was heat and mass transfer. It was held between 9th and 13th September in Minsk, at the headquarters of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences.

We have presented the results of thermal analysis and thermal control system solutions obtained in the project "Development of the intelligent, high-sensitive and low-noise CCD camera with an internal image analysis for scientific observation and monitoring." This project is performed with the Centre for Theoretical Physics, Institute of Experimental Physics, University of Warsaw and the company Creotech Ltd. Project is an example of a SPIN-OFF activities. Family of CCD cameras for astronomy observations was designed back in the "Pi of the Sky", and now, the goal is to implement the actual camera for applications such as industrial monitoring with advanced, built-in image recognition.

The conference was also an opportunity to cooperate with Belarusian scientists and industry. Luikov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer is a world class institution, this year celebrating its 60thanniversary. Two months ago Belarus also enjoyed significant success in the field of astronautics, launching its second satellite into orbit. In the nearest future closer cooperation of our laboratory with Belarusian partners is planned.
